White, Ivory or Champagne? How to Choose the Right Veil Colour
Choosing your veil colour sounds simple — until you realise there are quite a few versions of “white”.
One of the most common questions we get at Golden Veil Bridal is whether to choose white, ivory or champagne. The good news? Your veil doesn’t need to perfectly match your dress. It just needs to complement it beautifully.
🤍 Ivory Veils
Ivory is the most popular choice for modern wedding dresses. Many gowns that look white in photos are actually soft ivory in person.
If your dress is described as ivory, off-white, natural or warm white, an ivory veil is usually the safest choice. It works beautifully with lace, satin, crepe and romantic gowns.
🤍 White Veils
A true white veil is best suited to a genuinely bright, crisp white gown. If your dress has cool white undertones, white will keep the overall look clean and consistent.
🥂 Champagne Veils
Champagne is perfect for gowns with warmer beige, nude, mocha or champagne undertones. It can also look beautiful with ivory lace over a nude lining, creating a soft and luxurious finish.
Your Veil Doesn’t Have to Match Perfectly
Because veil tulle is sheer, the colour naturally appears softer once worn. Focus on the overall undertone of your dress rather than trying to match one small section exactly.
Still Unsure?
Send us a photo of your wedding dress and we’re always happy to help recommend the veil colour, length and style that will work best with your gown.
