BRIDAL VEIL GUIDE

How to Choose Your Wedding Veil

Not sure which veil to choose? Start with the overall feeling you want for your bridal look, then consider length, fabric, detail and colour. The right veil should complement your gown rather than compete with it.

Choose the right length

Shorter and fingertip veils create a softer, lighter look, while longer cathedral styles add drama and movement. Your dress silhouette, train and ceremony setting can all help determine which length feels most balanced.

Match the veil to your dress

If your gown already has lace, beading or statement detailing, a simple soft-tulle veil can keep the look refined. Minimal gowns can carry more detailed lace, pearl or cathedral-length veils beautifully.

Think about colour

Ivory is the most common bridal veil colour and works with many modern wedding gowns. White can suit brighter white fabrics. When possible, compare your veil against the dress fabric in natural light rather than choosing from the colour name alone.
